But as I was a couple months ago I I reading was a couple months ago I I reading was a couple months ago I I reading through in my time with God in Genesis through in my time with God in Genesis through in my time with God in Genesis and and and I came across this passage where I came across this passage where I came across this passage where Abraham and Sarah are visited by God and Abraham and Sarah are visited by God and Abraham and Sarah are visited by God and he reiterates the promise that he made he reiterates the promise that he made he reiterates the promise that he made to them that they would have a son and to them that they would have a son and to them that they would have a son and of course Abraham is, you know, way up of course Abraham is, you know, way up of course Abraham is, you know, way up in years and so is Sarah so they're in years and so is Sarah so they're in years and so is Sarah so they're starting to doubt the promise that starting to doubt the promise that starting to doubt the promise that they're going to be the father he's they're going to be the father he's they're going to be the father he's going to be the father of a great going to be the father of a great going to be the father of a great nation. I God really spoke to me you can't afford to be the spoke to me you can't afford to be the spoke to me you can't afford to be the same person that you are today at this same person that you are today at this same person that you are today at this time next year.

So, I've got to ask you though, what was I've got to ask you though, what was I've got to ask you though, what was there anything specific in your own life there anything specific in your own life there anything specific in your own life that you're saying, "Hey, this is my that you're saying, "Hey, this is my that you're saying, "Hey, this is my target or my goal to change for next target or my goal to change for next target or my goal to change for next year?" year?" year?" >> No doubt. And I can't afford to do that and so um And I can't afford to do that and so um And I can't afford to do that and so um I really am I really am I really am seeking to spend more time with God, to seeking to spend more time with God, to seeking to spend more time with God, to put him first. And of course, sometimes, you know, you may not get a lot out of you know, you may not get a lot out of you know, you may not get a lot out of it scripture and spending time with God it scripture and spending time with God it scripture and spending time with God and praying and um and praying and um and praying and um and then other times it's just and then other times it's just and then other times it's just life-changing and he's showing me so life-changing and he's showing me so life-changing and he's showing me so many things, you know, he's so good, so many things, you know, he's so good, so many things, you know, he's so good, so merciful that he shows me so much merciful that he shows me so much merciful that he shows me so much in the time that I spend with him.

And I want you to stop and think you. And I want you to stop and think you. And I want you to stop and think what kind of person do you want to be what kind of person do you want to be what kind of person do you want to be at this time next year? at this time next year? at this time next year? Because it's not going to happen unless Because it's not going to happen unless Because it's not going to happen unless we make some commitments to that and we make some commitments to that and we make some commitments to that and then allow God to do that. And also, Ryan, I know that here he's speaking to Ryan, I know that here he's speaking to Ryan, I know that here he's speaking to Abraham and Sarah who been waiting for Abraham and Sarah who been waiting for Abraham and Sarah who been waiting for years for something to change in their years for something to change in their years for something to change in their lives. And and it see, I think they were lives. And and it see, I think they were lives. Great people of faith, they're in the hall of people of faith, they're in the hall of people of faith, they're in the hall of faith, but yet they're starting to doubt faith, but yet they're starting to doubt faith, but yet they're starting to doubt and so he comes to them again and tells and so he comes to them again and tells and so he comes to them again and tells them and what does it say that Sarah them and what does it say that Sarah them and what does it say that Sarah did? And she said, "Well, I didn't laugh." And God said, "Yeah, you didn't laugh." And God said, "Yeah, you didn't laugh." And God said, "Yeah, you did." did." did." And I want to say to someone say to someone say to someone right now that right now that right now that maybe you've been praying for God to maybe you've been praying for God to maybe you've been praying for God to change a situation in your life, maybe change a situation in your life, maybe change a situation in your life, maybe to move a mountain that it just seems to move a mountain that it just seems to move a mountain that it just seems immovable and it's been there for years. immovable and it's been there for years. immovable and it's been there for years. And it's not your fault. And it's not your fault. And it's not your fault. And you've been waiting, you're about to And you've been waiting, you're about to And you've been waiting, you're about to give up on on it right now. About to give up on on it right now. You know, the things that are painful in You know, the things that are painful in You know, the things that are painful in my life. He could he changed that my life. He could he changed that my life. He could he changed that problem and take it out of my life that problem and take it out of my life that problem and take it out of my life that I haven't been able to take out of my I haven't been able to take out of my I haven't been able to take out of my life, but more importantly, he wants to life, but more importantly, he wants to life, but more importantly, he wants to change me.

What what How You want to be different, right? different, right? different, right? >> no no, I think resonating with what >> no no, I think resonating with what >> no no, I think resonating with what you're saying, Dad, is just that, you you're saying, Dad, is just that, you you're saying, Dad, is just that, you know, just genuinely wanting to spend know, just genuinely wanting to spend know, just genuinely wanting to spend time with God in his word, desiring time with God in his word, desiring time with God in his word, desiring that, you know, I think when you're when that, you know, I think when you're when that, you know, I think when you're when you're motivated and you and you're you're motivated and you and you're you're motivated and you and you're busy, it can be easy to have good busy, it can be easy to have good busy, it can be easy to have good intentions and say, "I'm going to get to intentions and say, "I'm going to get to intentions and say, "I'm going to get to that. I'm going to get to that. I'm going to get to that. I'm going to get to >> I'm going to read my Bible." But then it >> I'm going to read my Bible." But then it >> I'm going to read my Bible." But then it it you know, I think we all have a it you know, I think we all have a it you know, I think we all have a tendency in this busy life to back tendency in this busy life to back tendency in this busy life to back burner that time. And so, you know, it's a it's a universal it's good to know a it's a universal it's good to know a it's a universal it's good to know that even our our spiritual leader um in that even our our spiritual leader um in that even our our spiritual leader um in you is saying, "Hey, I want to spend you is saying, "Hey, I want to spend you is saying, "Hey, I want to spend more time with with Jesus." So, I think a great your life." So, I think a great your life." And then um church, how to be a things. And then um church, how to be a things. And then um church, how to be a better leader, the way I wanted to be better leader, the way I wanted to be better leader, the way I wanted to be not what I want to do, but the way I not what I want to do, but the way I not what I want to do, but the way I want to be. Then I got to think, okay, want to be. Then I got to think, okay, want to be. Then I got to think, okay, what do I need to do in God's power to what do I need to do in God's power to what do I need to do in God's power to get there, you know?

And I know that I want to work through. And I know that I want to work through. And I know many of you have personal maybe emotions many of you have personal maybe emotions many of you have personal maybe emotions that you just hey, I can't carry this that you just hey, I can't carry this that you just hey, I can't carry this with me anymore, right? with me anymore, right? with me anymore, right? >> No kidding. Um in fact, uh Mom and I were going to Um in fact, uh Mom and I were going to Um in fact, uh Mom and I were going to meet someone at 10:00 and I said uh to meet someone at 10:00 and I said uh to meet someone at 10:00 and I said uh to your mom, I said, "We got to leave at your mom, I said, "We got to leave at your mom, I said, "We got to leave at 9:25 on the dot."
