Mission Statement Week 2: “Love People” Conversation

Uh and so all of us want to be great. Uh and so all of us want to be great. None of us want to be the the least. And None of us want to be the the least. And None of us want to be the the least. And right there in that moment of right there in that moment of right there in that moment of demonstration, Jesus redefined greatness demonstration, Jesus redefined greatness demonstration, Jesus redefined greatness by being the least. He took out a towel.

Um but he he kind of lays out, hey, I was I was he he kind of lays out, hey, I was I was he he kind of lays out, hey, I was I was hungry and you fed me. Like I was in hungry and you fed me. I was I was sick and you and you came to me. He sick and you and you came to me. He sick and you and you came to me. He lists out all of these needs. And the lists out all of these needs. Like when did we see you hungry?

Um and and specifically um in this it's it just specifically um in this it's it just specifically um in this it's it just gets down to the fact that if you look gets down to the fact that if you look gets down to the fact that if you look at it like they didn't even realize that at it like they didn't even realize that at it like they didn't even realize that they were serving Jesus, right? That they were serving Jesus, right? That they were serving Jesus, right? That they like he's in all of these spaces. they like he's in all of these spaces. they like he's in all of these spaces. When I think about y'all uh in in When I think about y'all uh in in When I think about y'all uh in in particular for this conversation, particular for this conversation, particular for this conversation, I I have seen evidence in all of your I I have seen evidence in all of your I I have seen evidence in all of your lives that you love people. And that lives that you love people. And that lives that you love people. And that love is love is love is I don't experience it as transactional.

Um and so for four years I get to have the same students and I teach to have the same students and I teach to have the same students and I teach all subjects and we learn social skills all subjects and we learn social skills all subjects and we learn social skills and how to count money and practice job and how to count money and practice job and how to count money and practice job skills and get them prepared for life skills and get them prepared for life skills and get them prepared for life after high school cuz it looks different after high school cuz it looks different after high school cuz it looks different than students who go to college.

It was my first, um, experience in ministry, um, and serving experience in ministry, um, and serving experience in ministry, um, and serving families impacted by disability. It is so vital in relationships. And our whole vital in relationships. And our whole vital in relationships. And our whole focus on teaching is all about focus on teaching is all about focus on teaching is all about friendships with others and friendships friendships with others and friendships friendships with others and friendships with Jesus. And so we see that played with Jesus. And so we see that played with Jesus. And so we see that played out in the church.

Like, I can teach them kids about Jesus. Like, I can teach them math, but like this is what's most math, but like this is what's most math, but like this is what's most important." We have needs Village or Kids Village. We have needs for all those. Um just like any church for all those. Um just like any church for all those. Um just like any church that it it doesn't happen if those that it it doesn't happen if those that it it doesn't happen if those aren't filled. And I'm grateful for aren't filled. And I'm grateful for aren't filled. And I'm grateful for those who step into those spaces. You those who step into those spaces. You those who step into those spaces.
