Summary

The sermon explores "cat and dog theology," contrasting how dogs view divine care as proof of God's existence, while cats believe their comfort means they are God. It references the era of Jonah and Jeroboam II in Israel, highlighting that times of prosperity are not necessarily signs of God's approval but rather His kindness and pity. The takeaway is to be wary of using financial success as a metric of God's favor, as even pagans can prosper, and true devotion stems from recognizing God's grace, not personal comfort.
