Navigating the Bible Daniel. [Music] All right, Dr. John Golden Gate, thank All right, Dr. John Golden Gate, thank you so much for joining me today as we you so much for joining me today as we you so much for joining me today as we dive into Daniel. As I was saying a dive into Daniel. As I was saying a dive into Daniel. As I was saying a little bit before we started recording, little bit before we started recording, little bit before we started recording, I think it's a book that a lot of people I think it's a book that a lot of people I think it's a book that a lot of people think that they know probably well. think that they know probably well. think that they know probably well. they've heard the, you know, some they've heard the, you know, some they've heard the, you know, some stories about Daniel and they're like, stories about Daniel and they're like, stories about Daniel and they're like, "Oh, yeah, Daniel, I know it." Um, but I "Oh, yeah, Daniel, I know it." Um, but I "Oh, yeah, Daniel, I know it." Um, but I think when they actually dive into it think when they actually dive into it think when they actually dive into it and read it, they might go, "Whoa, what and read it, they might go, "Whoa, what and read it, they might go, "Whoa, what is happening in this book?" So, I'm is happening in this book?" So, I'm is happening in this book?" So, I'm excited to have you help us to navigate excited to have you help us to navigate excited to have you help us to navigate through this book today. through this book today. through this book today. >> Okay, >> Okay, >> Okay, >> it's going to be great. Um, so with all >> it's going to be great. Um, so with all >> it's going to be great. Um, so with all these books, let's start with the basic these books, let's start with the basic these books, let's start with the basic details. So, do we know who wrote the details. So, do we know who wrote the details. So, do we know who wrote the book of Daniel and maybe when it was book of Daniel and maybe when it was book of Daniel and maybe when it was written? And then I always like to frame written? And then I always like to frame written? And then I always like to frame it. How does knowing these or maybe not it. How does knowing these or maybe not it. How does knowing these or maybe not knowing these things affect how we read knowing these things affect how we read knowing these things affect how we read the book?
-
the book? the book? >> Well, fortunately, as is the case with >> Well, fortunately, as is the case with >> Well, fortunately, as is the case with lots of the scriptures, we don't know lots of the scriptures, we don't know lots of the scriptures, we don't know who wrote them. who wrote them. who wrote them. >> Um, but what's actually more important, >> Um, but what's actually more important, >> Um, but what's actually more important, and I mean, God apparently didn't think and I mean, God apparently didn't think and I mean, God apparently didn't think it was essential for us to know that in it was essential for us to know that in it was essential for us to know that in order to understand it. order to understand it. order to understand it. >> True. Um but uh uh but what what we do >> True. Um but uh uh but what what we do >> True. Um but uh uh but what what we do know um at least I think we know um when know um at least I think we know um when know um at least I think we know um when it was written and who it was written it was written and who it was written it was written and who it was written for. Uh and that's actually much more for. Uh and that's actually much more for. Uh and that's actually much more important. It's much more valuable that important. It's much more valuable that important. It's much more valuable that we know who God was seeking to speak to we know who God was seeking to speak to we know who God was seeking to speak to through this book. Never mind about who through this book. Never mind about who through this book. Never mind about who he was speaking through, if you see what he was speaking through, if you see what he was speaking through, if you see what I mean. I mean. I mean. >> With Daniel, it's kind of it's >> With Daniel, it's kind of it's >> With Daniel, it's kind of it's interesting particularly because there interesting particularly because there interesting particularly because there are two answers, both of which are are two answers, both of which are are two answers, both of which are right. It's it's a book. We'll probably right. It's it's a book. We'll probably right. It's it's a book. We'll probably find ourselves talking about this again. find ourselves talking about this again. find ourselves talking about this again. It's a book of two halves. It's a book of two halves. It's a book of two halves. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Uh the first half uh is a collection of >> Uh the first half uh is a collection of >> Uh the first half uh is a collection of stories about Daniel and his friends who stories about Daniel and his friends who stories about Daniel and his friends who have been taken off um in forced have been taken off um in forced have been taken off um in forced migration to Babylon and who are needing migration to Babylon and who are needing migration to Babylon and who are needing to face the issues that arise there to face the issues that arise there to face the issues that arise there which are sometimes opportunities but which are sometimes opportunities but which are sometimes opportunities but quite often um uh temptations and trials quite often um uh temptations and trials quite often um uh temptations and trials and problems. Uh and so the book the and problems. Uh and so the book the and problems. Uh and so the book the stories speak to people sometime in the stories speak to people sometime in the stories speak to people sometime in the sixth fifth century something like that sixth fifth century something like that sixth fifth century something like that who are themselves living um in exile or who are themselves living um in exile or who are themselves living um in exile or in dispersion away from home and deals in dispersion away from home and deals in dispersion away from home and deals with issues that would arise for them.
-
with issues that would arise for them. with issues that would arise for them. One of the things that happens there One of the things that happens there One of the things that happens there though is that Daniel gets a vision um though is that Daniel gets a vision um though is that Daniel gets a vision um about the empires that control their about the empires that control their about the empires that control their lives. And in the second half of the lives. And in the second half of the lives. And in the second half of the book, what you then get is a series of book, what you then get is a series of book, what you then get is a series of kind of subvisions really that are kind of subvisions really that are kind of subvisions really that are expositions of that first vision and expositions of that first vision and expositions of that first vision and that I think are kind of inspired by it that I think are kind of inspired by it that I think are kind of inspired by it somehow. And when you look at who those somehow. And when you look at who those somehow. And when you look at who those visions speak to, it's people who are visions speak to, it's people who are visions speak to, it's people who are back in Jerusalem uh several centuries back in Jerusalem uh several centuries back in Jerusalem uh several centuries later where they are also under later where they are also under later where they are also under pressure. pressure. pressure. They're under pressure from the uh not They're under pressure from the uh not They're under pressure from the uh not the Babylonian Empire and not the the Babylonian Empire and not the the Babylonian Empire and not the Persian Empire, but the Greek Persian Empire, but the Greek Persian Empire, but the Greek Hellenistic Syrian Empire in about the Hellenistic Syrian Empire in about the Hellenistic Syrian Empire in about the second century where the emperor uh is second century where the emperor uh is second century where the emperor uh is trying to stop them worshiping the Lord trying to stop them worshiping the Lord trying to stop them worshiping the Lord in accordance with what the Torah says. in accordance with what the Torah says. in accordance with what the Torah says. >> And some of them are obeying and some of >> And some of them are obeying and some of >> And some of them are obeying and some of them aren't and are getting persecuted them aren't and are getting persecuted them aren't and are getting persecuted and even martyed for it. And so what and even martyed for it. And so what and even martyed for it. And so what these visions are doing is promising these visions are doing is promising these visions are doing is promising them is kind of reassuring them that them is kind of reassuring them that them is kind of reassuring them that God's at l at at work in all this and is God's at l at at work in all this and is God's at l at at work in all this and is lord over it. Uh and promising them that lord over it. Uh and promising them that lord over it. Uh and promising them that he's going to um bring about the he's going to um bring about the he's going to um bring about the fulfillment of his purpose and that they fulfillment of his purpose and that they fulfillment of his purpose and that they can therefore carry on trusting him. So can therefore carry on trusting him. So can therefore carry on trusting him. So it's two different sort of audiences um it's two different sort of audiences um it's two different sort of audiences um which have got overlaps but are a bit which have got overlaps but are a bit which have got overlaps but are a bit different in um where they are.
-
different in um where they are. different in um where they are. >> Yeah. I think as you as you mentioned, >> Yeah. I think as you as you mentioned, >> Yeah. I think as you as you mentioned, it's helpful to to remember for the it's helpful to to remember for the it's helpful to to remember for the listener or the reader that this is, you listener or the reader that this is, you listener or the reader that this is, you know, as they're talking about how know, as they're talking about how know, as they're talking about how Daniel and his friends were into forced Daniel and his friends were into forced Daniel and his friends were into forced exile in to Babylonian captivity, right? exile in to Babylonian captivity, right? exile in to Babylonian captivity, right? So, we're going it's it's important to So, we're going it's it's important to So, we're going it's it's important to keep in mind because as as you read in keep in mind because as as you read in keep in mind because as as you read in the Bible, not everything is happening the Bible, not everything is happening the Bible, not everything is happening chronologically. So you could So like chronologically. So you could So like chronologically. So you could So like we've already done episodes on Ezra and we've already done episodes on Ezra and we've already done episodes on Ezra and Nehemiah where we're talking about going Nehemiah where we're talking about going Nehemiah where we're talking about going back to Jerusalem and it's like oh well back to Jerusalem and it's like oh well back to Jerusalem and it's like oh well wait so so but then we're entering into wait so so but then we're entering into wait so so but then we're entering into these prophets and uh they haven't even these prophets and uh they haven't even these prophets and uh they haven't even left yet. Jerusalem hasn't fallen yet. left yet. Jerusalem hasn't fallen yet. left yet. Jerusalem hasn't fallen yet. You know there these warnings and then You know there these warnings and then You know there these warnings and then you get lamentations which is oh it it you get lamentations which is oh it it you get lamentations which is oh it it did fall. And then you get Daniel which did fall. And then you get Daniel which did fall. And then you get Daniel which is okay we're going back into captivity is okay we're going back into captivity is okay we're going back into captivity here a little bit. So, it kind of jumps here a little bit. So, it kind of jumps here a little bit. So, it kind of jumps around and the um if you're looking at around and the um if you're looking at around and the um if you're looking at it from a straight it from a straight it from a straight chronology point of view. I just think chronology point of view. I just think chronology point of view. I just think that's helpful to remember that's helpful to remember that's helpful to remember >> Daniel is is kind of just after >> Daniel is is kind of just after >> Daniel is is kind of just after Lamentations.
-
Lamentations. Lamentations. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And just before the beginning of of the >> And just before the beginning of of the >> And just before the beginning of of the book of Ezra book of Ezra book of Ezra >> uh but the visions are way later after >> uh but the visions are way later after >> uh but the visions are way later after the Ezra Nemiah time. the Ezra Nemiah time. the Ezra Nemiah time. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That's just to make it more complicated. >> That's just to make it more complicated. >> That's just to make it more complicated. Thank you very much, John. Thank you very much, John. Thank you very much, John. important to keep in mind. It's been important to keep in mind. It's been important to keep in mind. It's been it's fun to talk about this book right it's fun to talk about this book right it's fun to talk about this book right after we did Ezekiel because they're after we did Ezekiel because they're after we did Ezekiel because they're both books that are very interesting but both books that are very interesting but both books that are very interesting but get into some really interesting stuff. get into some really interesting stuff. get into some really interesting stuff. So, it it's like it's like we took a So, it it's like it's like we took a So, it it's like it's like we took a little bit of a turn after after um little bit of a turn after after um little bit of a turn after after um Isaiah and Jeremiah and then we're going Isaiah and Jeremiah and then we're going Isaiah and Jeremiah and then we're going to get into some more um ethereal like to get into some more um ethereal like to get into some more um ethereal like you know stuff with visions and whatnot you know stuff with visions and whatnot you know stuff with visions and whatnot with Ezekiel and Daniel which is a lot with Ezekiel and Daniel which is a lot with Ezekiel and Daniel which is a lot of fun. So, how would you describe the of fun. So, how would you describe the of fun. So, how would you describe the book of Daniel in one sentence? book of Daniel in one sentence? book of Daniel in one sentence? >> Um, the one of the most um interesting >> Um, the one of the most um interesting >> Um, the one of the most um interesting things I ever heard anybody say or things I ever heard anybody say or things I ever heard anybody say or rather write about Daniel was this that rather write about Daniel was this that rather write about Daniel was this that Daniel is the great book in scripture Daniel is the great book in scripture Daniel is the great book in scripture about the kingdom of God.
-
about the kingdom of God. about the kingdom of God. And this guy then said, "People think And this guy then said, "People think And this guy then said, "People think that that if you want to understand the that that if you want to understand the that that if you want to understand the kingdom of God, you simply uh look at kingdom of God, you simply uh look at kingdom of God, you simply uh look at what Jesus says." what Jesus says." what Jesus says." >> Sure. But you don't really get that get >> Sure. But you don't really get that get >> Sure. But you don't really get that get that unless you go behind uh to Daniel that unless you go behind uh to Daniel that unless you go behind uh to Daniel because Daniel talks so much about the because Daniel talks so much about the because Daniel talks so much about the kingdom of God. It's about God's um will kingdom of God. It's about God's um will kingdom of God. It's about God's um will being being brought about in the world being being brought about in the world being being brought about in the world about God's kingship becoming a reality about God's kingship becoming a reality about God's kingship becoming a reality in the world. in the world. in the world. >> And uh that's my one thing. >> And uh that's my one thing. >> And uh that's my one thing. >> No, I like that so much. That's an >> No, I like that so much. That's an >> No, I like that so much. That's an interesting lens to read the book interesting lens to read the book interesting lens to read the book through. If you begin reading through through. If you begin reading through through. If you begin reading through the book of Daniel with that lens, the book of Daniel with that lens, the book of Daniel with that lens, >> Yeah. I think you're going to see it >> Yeah. I think you're going to see it >> Yeah. I think you're going to see it everywhere. It's this it's a whole book everywhere. It's this it's a whole book everywhere. It's this it's a whole book about God's economy in a different way about God's economy in a different way about God's economy in a different way which um I think yeah that's a which um I think yeah that's a which um I think yeah that's a fascinating lens and I'm sure that that fascinating lens and I'm sure that that fascinating lens and I'm sure that that that lens is going to color the rest of that lens is going to color the rest of that lens is going to color the rest of our conversation. So so keep that in our conversation. So so keep that in our conversation. So so keep that in mind listener. mind listener. mind listener. >> It probably will. Yeah. >> It probably will. Yeah. >> It probably will. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. It's a the great book about >> Yeah. Yeah. It's a the great book about >> Yeah. Yeah. It's a the great book about the kingdom of God. So okay. So then the kingdom of God. So okay. So then the kingdom of God. So okay. So then let's talk about the let's talk about the let's talk about the we usually we talk about the narrative we usually we talk about the narrative we usually we talk about the narrative flow of the book and this book has a flow of the book and this book has a flow of the book and this book has a little bit of a narrative flow at the little bit of a narrative flow at the little bit of a narrative flow at the beginning but as you said it's a book of beginning but as you said it's a book of beginning but as you said it's a book of two books or two halves and then we get two books or two halves and then we get two books or two halves and then we get into something different. So can you into something different. So can you into something different. So can you describe the describe the describe the trajectory of this book? Where does this trajectory of this book? Where does this trajectory of this book? Where does this book take us?
-
book take us? book take us? Well, it it starts off with these guys Well, it it starts off with these guys Well, it it starts off with these guys um in uh this experience of forced um in uh this experience of forced um in uh this experience of forced migration and describes various things migration and describes various things migration and describes various things that happened to them. Uh and then it that happened to them. Uh and then it that happened to them. Uh and then it goes to these visions that are more that goes to these visions that are more that goes to these visions that are more that more relate to the way that to what was more relate to the way that to what was more relate to the way that to what was happening several centuries later. So it happening several centuries later. So it happening several centuries later. So it is an arc but arc is a very good word is an arc but arc is a very good word is an arc but arc is a very good word >> better a better word than flow. Did you >> better a better word than flow. Did you >> better a better word than flow. Did you use the word flow? So, so flow is how we use the word flow? So, so flow is how we use the word flow? So, so flow is how we kind of talked about earlier, but arc is kind of talked about earlier, but arc is kind of talked about earlier, but arc is great. great. great. >> It goes like that. You see, it goes from >> It goes like that. You see, it goes from >> It goes like that. You see, it goes from the exile to the second century with a the exile to the second century with a the exile to the second century with a kind of jump. kind of jump. kind of jump. >> Well, it does go in between. It does it >> Well, it does go in between. It does it >> Well, it does go in between. It does it does uh the the visions do take you from does uh the the visions do take you from does uh the the visions do take you from one to the other, but it's got the the one to the other, but it's got the the one to the other, but it's got the the the two ends are very important. the two ends are very important. the two ends are very important. >> So, for that first half of the book that >> So, for that first half of the book that >> So, for that first half of the book that is following along the story, can you is following along the story, can you is following along the story, can you give our listeners the highlights of the give our listeners the highlights of the give our listeners the highlights of the story of Daniel and his friends? story of Daniel and his friends? story of Daniel and his friends? Uh well they get they get taken off into Uh well they get they get taken off into Uh well they get they get taken off into exile with loads of other people uh exile with loads of other people uh exile with loads of other people uh after the in the in connection with the after the in the in connection with the after the in the in connection with the fall of Jerusalem in 587.
-
fall of Jerusalem in 587. fall of Jerusalem in 587. Uh they are amongst the uh most of the Uh they are amongst the uh most of the Uh they are amongst the uh most of the people many of the people who were taken people many of the people who were taken people many of the people who were taken off into exile were the people whom the off into exile were the people whom the off into exile were the people whom the Babylonians thought it was worthwhile to Babylonians thought it was worthwhile to Babylonians thought it was worthwhile to take into exile the people who would be take into exile the people who would be take into exile the people who would be useful. useful. useful. >> Yeah. So these are guys who are college >> Yeah. So these are guys who are college >> Yeah. So these are guys who are college age who are then sent off to college in age who are then sent off to college in age who are then sent off to college in Babylon in order to be able to um get Babylon in order to be able to um get Babylon in order to be able to um get themselves equipped uh for working in themselves equipped uh for working in themselves equipped uh for working in the Babylonian administration. Uh and the Babylonian administration. Uh and the Babylonian administration. Uh and the stories are then about the um the stories are then about the um the stories are then about the um problems and the challenges and the problems and the challenges and the problems and the challenges and the difficulties of being involved in the difficulties of being involved in the difficulties of being involved in the Babylonian administration. Babylonian administration. Babylonian administration. um the ways in which they are put under um the ways in which they are put under um the ways in which they are put under pressure but also the ways in which pressure but also the ways in which pressure but also the ways in which they're able to prove that the kind of they're able to prove that the kind of they're able to prove that the kind of education that they get from the Lord is education that they get from the Lord is education that they get from the Lord is actually more useful than the kind of actually more useful than the kind of actually more useful than the kind of education they got from college. education they got from college. education they got from college. >> That's the first half. >> That's the first half. >> That's the first half. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> What did you ask me? Did you >> What did you ask me? Did you >> What did you ask me? Did you >> you want that's what you asked me? Yeah. >> you want that's what you asked me? Yeah. >> you want that's what you asked me? Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Those main points, right? Because >> Yeah. Those main points, right? Because >> Yeah. Those main points, right? Because I I think pe a lot of people would think I I think pe a lot of people would think I I think pe a lot of people would think of the book of Daniel and they probably of the book of Daniel and they probably of the book of Daniel and they probably think of okay that's the book that has think of okay that's the book that has think of okay that's the book that has the fiery furnace and that's the book the fiery furnace and that's the book the fiery furnace and that's the book that that has that that has that that has >> Daniel in the lion's den and and what >> Daniel in the lion's den and and what >> Daniel in the lion's den and and what >> well those are two of the uh when I >> well those are two of the uh when I >> well those are two of the uh when I talked about being being put under talked about being being put under talked about being being put under pressure being threatened with a fiery pressure being threatened with a fiery pressure being threatened with a fiery furnace and putting in the lens that's furnace and putting in the lens that's furnace and putting in the lens that's what I call pressure.
-
what I call pressure. what I call pressure. >> Yeah. Yeah. That that is a a clear >> Yeah. Yeah. That that is a a clear >> Yeah. Yeah. That that is a a clear pressure point. And again, and there's a pressure point. And again, and there's a pressure point. And again, and there's a reason that those stories are so reason that those stories are so reason that those stories are so commonly told in like a kid's Bible commonly told in like a kid's Bible commonly told in like a kid's Bible school. Is there great stories school. Is there great stories school. Is there great stories to, as you said, to talk about what it to, as you said, to talk about what it to, as you said, to talk about what it means to stand up for your faith, to means to stand up for your faith, to means to stand up for your faith, to have a strong faith, strong convictions have a strong faith, strong convictions have a strong faith, strong convictions about your belief in God in the midst of about your belief in God in the midst of about your belief in God in the midst of >> even more about the fact that God is >> even more about the fact that God is >> even more about the fact that God is faithful. The Bible is not about us. faithful. The Bible is not about us. faithful. The Bible is not about us. It's about God. It's about God. It's about God. >> Yes. Yes. 100%. It's a great picture of >> Yes. Yes. 100%. It's a great picture of >> Yes. Yes. 100%. It's a great picture of God. The three friends in Daniel have to God. The three friends in Daniel have to God. The three friends in Daniel have to be faithful, but they are faith. But but be faithful, but they are faith. But but be faithful, but they are faith. But but the other side of their being faithful the other side of their being faithful the other side of their being faithful is God being faithful is God being faithful is God being faithful >> 100%. And and and and that's an >> 100%. And and and and that's an >> 100%. And and and and that's an incredibly important story, especially incredibly important story, especially incredibly important story, especially if you look at the context of exile is if you look at the context of exile is if you look at the context of exile is these stories of God's continued these stories of God's continued these stories of God's continued faithfulness even in a foreign land. faithfulness even in a foreign land. faithfulness even in a foreign land. Even even though he let Jerusalem fall, Even even though he let Jerusalem fall, Even even though he let Jerusalem fall, >> he's his faithfulness still continued. >> he's his faithfulness still continued. >> he's his faithfulness still continued. So for those people who were So for those people who were So for those people who were not only there at the time in Babylon, not only there at the time in Babylon, not only there at the time in Babylon, but also the people who this book was but also the people who this book was but also the people who this book was being written to and for having these being written to and for having these being written to and for having these continued reminders of God's continued reminders of God's continued reminders of God's faithfulness because boy did they and us faithfulness because boy did they and us faithfulness because boy did they and us still today need continued reminders of still today need continued reminders of still today need continued reminders of God's faithfulness to keep us on track.
-
God's faithfulness to keep us on track. God's faithfulness to keep us on track. Those stories are they just ring with Those stories are they just ring with Those stories are they just ring with such importance and in a way that we can such importance and in a way that we can such importance and in a way that we can understand but is even more powerful for understand but is even more powerful for understand but is even more powerful for them at the time. them at the time. them at the time. Right. Right. Right. >> And then so for the second half of the >> And then so for the second half of the >> And then so for the second half of the book with the visions, what is the onset book with the visions, what is the onset book with the visions, what is the onset of of Daniel's visions? The point is in in the book of Daniel, The point is in in the book of Daniel, The point is in in the book of Daniel, God is reigning when it doesn't look as God is reigning when it doesn't look as God is reigning when it doesn't look as if he is and where he isn't. Particularly the of Daniel is about. Particularly the of Daniel is about. Particularly the vision end anyway because what he says vision end anyway because what he says vision end anyway because what he says is, "Okay, you're in a mess. You're is, "Okay, you're in a mess. You're is, "Okay, you're in a mess. You're being persecuted, but I know the end." being persecuted, but I know the end." being persecuted, but I know the end." Yeah. And I promise you the end is going Yeah. And I promise you the end is going Yeah. And I promise you the end is going to be okay. to be okay. to be okay. >> Yeah. And we'll see that throughout. And it's it it can it can feel hard in it's it it can it can feel hard in it's it it can it can feel hard in especially in reading through Old especially in reading through Old especially in reading through Old Testament and the major prophets Testament and the major prophets Testament and the major prophets especially. It can feel hard because especially. It can feel hard because especially. It can feel hard because there were people who were suffering at there were people who were suffering at there were people who were suffering at this time. There were people who were this time. There were people who were this time. There were people who were truly suffering through the fall, truly suffering through the fall, truly suffering through the fall, through exile, through being cast into a through exile, through being cast into a through exile, through being cast into a different society. There were people who different society. There were people who different society. There were people who were killed. There were people who were were killed. There were people who were were killed. There were people who were put into all different types of put into all different types of put into all different types of persecution at this moment. And so it persecution at this moment. And so it persecution at this moment. And so it can be hard for us sometimes to say, can be hard for us sometimes to say, can be hard for us sometimes to say, well, God chose to allow this to happen. well, God chose to allow this to happen. well, God chose to allow this to happen. even though he knows the end, he still even though he knows the end, he still even though he knows the end, he still chose allow this to happen to people at chose allow this to happen to people at chose allow this to happen to people at that time. And yes, that is a part of that time. And yes, that is a part of that time. And yes, that is a part of the problem of pain and suffering that the problem of pain and suffering that the problem of pain and suffering that we wrestle with and deal with and how we wrestle with and deal with and how we wrestle with and deal with and how that relates to God's providence. So, I that relates to God's providence. So, I that relates to God's providence. So, I don't want to ignore that. I don't want don't want to ignore that. I don't want don't want to ignore that. I don't want to I can imagine people saying, "Well, to I can imagine people saying, "Well, to I can imagine people saying, "Well, that's easy enough for God to say, I'm that's easy enough for God to say, I'm that's easy enough for God to say, I'm the one living it or whatever."
