Our Father, we are stunned again by this portion of Scripture because of its absolute character. We are convinced that nothing can separate us from Your love which is ours in Christ. This is the ultimate of all joys. For no matter what the blessings may be in this life, if we thought there was any chance that at some point we might forfeit them, we couldn't even enjoy them. If we thought that what is ours now could be lost, taken away from us, we would live in the fear of your judgment because we know it better than the rest of the world knows it. We know what's coming.

We want to be sure that we'll never see condemnation. And You have promised that to us in this unparalleled text. Settle it in our hearts. Enrich it to us as we consider it in more detail and use it to give us that ultimate joy that our eternity in Christ is forever settled. We'll give you the praise and thanks in Christ's name.
