My House Shall be Called a House of Prayer | Guest Pastor Bob Cornell | Tuesday Prayer Meeting

Everybody happy in the Lord today? How about  just that we're alive another day? Let's give   him praise today, shall we? We praise you,  Lord. I praise you, Lord. Oh, I got a good   psalm for you while the singers are coming up.  Nothing better than the word of God and then some   singing. Let's all stand for the reading of the  word of God, shall we? How does this sound to you?   The Bible says Psalm 146, "Praise the Lord. Praise  the Lord, my soul. I will praise the Lord all my   life. I will sing praise to my God as long as I  live." Do not put your trust in princes, in human   beings who cannot save. When their spirit departs,  they return to the ground. On that very day,   their plans come to nothing. But oh, how blessed  are those whose help is in the God of Jacob,   whose hope is in the Lord their God. He is the  maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything   in them. He remains faithful forever. He upholds  the cause of the oppressed. He gives food to the   hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free. The Lord  gives sight to the blind. The Lord lifts up those   who are bowed down. The Lord loves the righteous.  The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains   the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates  the ways of the wicked. The Lord reigns forever,  

your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise  the Lord. One more time, let's praise him. Lord, as Pedro comes to lead us, I pray that  our praises will come up to you like a sweet   fragrance. We're not doing this for performance.  We're doing this for you. You are the audience.   We're all going to sing to you, Lord. We're going  to praise you as long as we have breath in our   lungs, Lord. So, receive our praise. If your name  begins with last name begins with A B C D E F G H   I J K N L. Come out of your seat. What's your name? He is the no-name worshipper. That's  what he is. But these my friends are   here with me. Come on up, honey. What?  What's your name? What's your name? Ka. Laya. Laa. Lia. How old are you? Nine. So now  listen. No more kids, please. Right. We're old.   You know what they remind me of? BT Kids camp  going on. Listen, they're not there for whatever   reason. But yesterday, my wife and I walked  over here in the morning and we made a a turn on   uh right when you cross Livingston, you hit um  Chick-fil-A. And we went right to Gallatin Place   over here. And as far as you could see on Gallatin  Place were all the little suitcases for all the   children and all the kids and all the workers.  Can I just say something? Let's thank God for   something. We have more workers and volunteers  with a sweeter spirit than any church in the   univer. At least I'm prejudice. and each can we  thank God for all the people who are up there.

So the kids are up there and I got a picture  last night at quarter after 9. They sent me a   picture to Carol and I and there they were. I  saw my my grand uh daughter Charlotte and her   BFF Anna and all the kids and they were there  in a in some kind of big public meeting and   we need to see God. We prayed last week  for the workers. They got up there safe,   but we got to pray for a breakthrough. You know  what I'm saying? A real breakthrough with the   children. Am I right? I mean a breakthrough  with the kids that the Holy Spirit will so   invade their lives that they'll know God is  alive. God is real. These are not Bible stories. Let's lift our hands up. Lord, we lift the  children up to you. Please break through,   Lord, in their lives as the word of God is  preached. Send the Holy Ghost down from heaven,   Lord, and visit them and let them be indelibly  marked by your spirit, so that they know, oh,   what happened at that camp, I'll never forget  it as long as I live. Like you met me when I   was just little, Lord, and I sense your  presence for the first time. Would you   do that again and again in all the lives of  the kids? You know where they live. You know   where they come from. You know what they  face. You know what the schools are doing,   Lord. Overcome all of it in the name of  Jesus. And let it be a clean sweep, Lord,  

for the kingdom. And thank you for these little  young worshippers that we have up here. Bless us,   Lord. Now, we have to pray for a lot of things,  Lord, tonight. Give the people discipline and   energy. Give us faith. We know not how we ought to  pray, but the spirit helps us with groans too deep   to be uttered sometimes. teach us to pray tonight  for we ask it in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. So, everybody give three or four people  a high five and you may be seated.   Okay. Only high fives today. We're  going to sing. Heat. Heat. Heat. my hands and say I love you.

Oh, exalt your name. Exalt your name on high. Thank you. Thank you singers. Thank you. I  told you we have a lot to pray for tonight,   but that's why we have a prayer meeting. E  amen. This is time for everything under the   sun. We shouldn't study the Bible when we're all  praying. We shouldn't pray when we're all studying   the Bible. We shouldn't take a picnic when we're  worshiping. There's a time for everything. Amen.   And right now, this part of the meeting, we  are going down and we're going to pray. Okay.   the 5day sleep away BT kids camp. It started  yesterday and it's on a it's on a great um start.

Pastor Park, come on up. We prayed a few weeks  ago um for a group that was going away to the   Middle East, undisclosed location. and Pastor  Park gave a good report. Come on, brother. Um,   gave a good report to the pastors today. Just  give an outline of what happened, how many went,   how many days you were there, some of the things,  and you can go into it a little bit here. Um,   we just have a few kids here, but I  think you can phrase it so that the   people understand what's going on over there.  Let's hear it for Pastor Jerry Park. Amen. Thank you for your prayers. And as pastor said,  we have some of the most amazing volunteers and   workers. Um, even leading up to this trip, I  had told the team, if you want to drop out,   there's no shame. You can drop out. It's not like,  uh, you know, the Q train is having problems.   There's like missiles and stuff flying around  over there. Uh, but everyone said, "No, we're   100% in." And they just served so selflessly, so  tirelessly. They had the spirit of Jesus with them   everywhere they went. And all of our uh partners  again, we all just worked as one, one body. It was   just really a blessing. So we were able to do 5  days of medical clinic and we saw 600 people in a   city location in refugee camps, very very hard  conditions. And then we split the team. There  

was an English and a computer team that taught  students in two different locations, including   another refugee camp. and we saw 100 students.  So we touched 700 people's lives u mostly Muslim,   Yazidis, Kurds, Arab. It was just an amazing  time of ministry. But also it was just again it   was a reminder to me just how difficult it is to  minister in these kinds of places. It's one of the   harder places I think I've ever taken teams to.  Just as an example, in one city where there's a   church plant of about 50 people, um they we have a  a life center there as well as this church all run   by former uh Muslims. And uh I gave a training and  a teaching on forgiveness. And um one of them came   up and said, "This is what happened to us. One  of our leaders, he was shot 29 times and this guy   felt like, "No, this this is not enough. I need  to do one more." He shot him 30 times and killed   him. He fled the city for a while. He came back,  no jail time, nothing. He's roaming free. And they   said, collectively, they agreed to forgive him.  But this particular person who was saying this   was saying, "But I I'm really struggling. I I  can't forgive this guy." So I said, "You know,   brother, forgiveness, it's a supernatural act.  You need the Holy Spirit. It's impossible to  

do it with within yourself. It has to come from  God." I said, "The other thing you need to do is   pray that this guy is like Saul of Tarsus. That  God's going to visit him in a dream or a vision   and that he will become an Apostle Paul." that's  the the way you need to approach this not not   with any hatred and so you know a light bulb went  off I think uh in his head and just just some of   these ideas of forgiveness is something that they  really struggle with the other aspect of this is   we worked a lot with Yazidis we have life centers  and church plants in all these different camps now   go by God's grace this one particular camp we went  to visit and uh this woman that we that she was in   this place where ISIS came and just slaughtered  them systematically. It was a genocide. And   she saw things um that were unspeakable. She  saw people being beheaded, children, babies,   uh when she fled, she saw girls being pulled out  and and and raped and and she was stepping over   bodies. It was just awful. and she was starting  to really cry and cry and she walked five days   to get to this camp. And there she felt hopeless  and and helpless. But there was a class that our   partners were teaching and it was on hairdressing  and other things vocational. And there she went  

to this class, she started to learn the skill,  but more than that, that's where she met Jesus.   And from that moment, she gave her heart to the  Lord and she Amen. And this is a really unreached   people group. She gave her heart to the Lord and  she began to share. And now she has herself seven   groups, home groups in this camp. And when  we were with her, um, I was then told that   just one week before, uh, her neighbors found  out that she's been sharing and they told her,   "If you keep this up, we will kill you." And  they will. When I heard this, I felt like,   "Okay, I I have to do something." We were supposed  to go to another place to do a clinic, and it got   blocked by the government. So, we switched the  plan. I said, "I want to help this sister. I I   want her to to to be a light to the community and  if everyone's looking down on her and I like to   do this I like to just stand with our persecuted  brothers and sisters. So we did we came we did   a clinic we saw 130 plus people and her and her  daughter were the ones who kind of like organized   everything and so everyone was looking at her as  she's bringing a blessing to our community. So   I'm praying that this will protect her and also  help her with her witness. And uh last story,   another camp, there's this brother who uh he also  came to faith little by little by little, it's a   long story, but he became a believer and really  on fire and he was sharing in his camp. And um he  

got threatened by not just his neighbors, but by  the police. And he's been arrested four times. And   the last time he was arrested, which wasn't that  long ago, uh they told him, the police officer   told him that the next time I catch you, I'm I  will personally kill you and uh you are are never   going to be able to to spread this thing around  and I I will personally come and I will kill you.   But that doesn't stop these amazing brave people.  Now, they may change kind of what they're doing,   but it doesn't stop them. So he's continuing to  to do outreaches. He does soccer uh to reach the   young men. He uses that as a bridge to reach out  to the young men because the the young ladies,   many of them are coming to faith, but the men  are are like an unreached within the unreached.   But he has such a heart for them. He's willing to  brave that. Uh after he was threatened, they beat   him very severely as well. So just standing  with him, doing a a medical clinic with him,   to me it was just like a reminder of how the  body of Christ is made up of so many people,   so many brave souls. And then I think about some  of the things that block me from wanting to share   here. I'm like, what what am I complaining about?  We have we have far more freedom here. There's so   much more we could do here. uh I I don't want to  look before the Lord and say, you know, Lord, I   was afraid because someone was going to, you know,  look the other way or or call me a name. Whereas  

these these brave souls are risking their lives  every day. So, I I want to just thank you for   your prayers. Please keep praying for the region.  There's an amazing move of God happening. It's   very small. It's quiet, but it's happening. and  uh I feel like I'm just witnessing history coming   before my eyes and we're all able to participate  in it. So again, continue to pray and thank you. No, I said that. Yeah. Good. So now   That's an undisclosed place. But I want  to talk to you about a disclosed place   which we're going to pray for because we have  a leader of the Christian church that here. Um he let me know before the meeting.  I I'm getting a feedback here. Is   am I holding the mic the wrong way? Um, out of 90 million people in this  country, there's 5,000 Christians.

Hello. 90 million people. 5,000 Christians. We  have more than 5,000 on a good Sunday here in   one day. Turkey has 87 to 90 million souls. The  capital is Ankura. The languages official are   Turkish, Kurdish, other minority languages.  The religions 97% Muslim, 3% other atheist,   traditional Christian, 0.2% Christian. Turkey  is the modern country of well-known early sites,   Christian sites such as Asia Minor, Galatia,  Antioch, and Vicidia and the servant churches of   Revelation, Ephesus, Leodysia, etc. Today, Turkey  is considered one of the largest unreached nations   in the world. Modern Turkey was created at the  end of World War I in 1923 from the remains of   the defeated Muslim Ottoman Empire. For more than  600 years, the Turkish Ottoman Empire spanned   across Southeast Europe, North Africa, Western  Asia, and Arabia. It was the guardian of all the   holy places of Islam. In other words, back back  then in those days that it wasn't called Muslims   so much or Iraq, Iran, it was just the Turks.  The Turks are there. the Turks have taken over  

um uh Jerusalem and and the mi and the um crusades  were fought against them. Turkey was established   to be a strictly secular state by General Mustafa  Kamal known as Adaturk. Adaturk initiated many   radical reforms of the country's political, social  and economic life in an effort to modernize the   country. Um coming up my brother and pastors  if you come behind them too please. The most   radical reform was to institute the separation  of state and religion Islam. The government   maintains careful control over all religious  activities. Turkey is a democracy which the   military safeguarded for many years. However, the  most recent government has been the most Islamic   of the recent governments, and the military's  power has receded, becoming more religious,   and that's bad for the Christian cause. Turkey  is among the top 20 I did not know this. Turkey   is among the top 20 economies in the world. I  did not know that, brother. I really didn't.   Turkeykey's largely free market economy is  increasingly driven by its industry and service   sectors. Technically, Turkey doesn't have a  state religion. Technically, the government   legalizes I'm sorry, the government legally  recognizes only specific non-Muslim groups um

dating back to 1923. Some traditional Christian  groups are recognized such as Greek Orthodox,   Catholic, Armenian, but other especially  evangelical groups are struggling for   recognition. Being a Turk is c identified  culturally as being Muslim. Leaving the faith   for another religion is considered a betrayal of  Turkish identity. Other words, you get converted.   How dare you turn on your people? You're a Turk.  Turks aren't Christians. Turks are Muslim. Do you   get it? You follow the government is highly  restrictive of any evangelism. Many foreign   Christian works have started. So we have with  us today Karem Kak who very interesting man   um who's from Turkey. I want him to briefly come  and just tell you what he's facing. He's just   visiting here. He started a church. you know where  his church is is right where the book of acts is   talking about Paul's second missionary journey  uh at first missionary journey and um and second   too some of the very spots that I was mentioning  on Sunday in in the message about how Paul was   led by the Holy Spirit and uh I want to maybe  come back another time he'll be able to talk to   us but I wanted to introduce him and and let him  set the stage for we're going to pray for Turkey I don't care if you don't say amen. We're  going to pray for Turkey. We're going to  

pray. Are you kidding? 5,000 Christians out of  90 million people. Look at me. 5,000 Christians.   90 million people. How could that be? And  this is amazing. Come on, brother. Because   um I'm so glad I met you today. uh because he  and I were saying where Christianity started   right where the whole thing began Paul's journeys  now there's hardly any Christians and the gospel   went all over the world and now he is trying to  get support from other parts of the world please   help us he runs I think the only Bible school uh  in Turkey uh yeah let's thank God for that and and um and now we got to pray. Imagine  where it started now needs the most   prayer. One of the places. Would you  welcome my brother? Come on, brother.

Uh good evening. Uh it's it's really amazing to be  here. Oh, I'm I'm sorry. I'm really emotional now.   Uh um you know when I say here in America, I  say people that I have been pastoring a mega   church in Turkey of 35 people and um and seeing  so many people here together praying for Turkey.   We really appreciate it. Uh um just wanted to  ask you specifically prayer for last six years   after COVID 19. So many of the missionaries  have been kicked out from our country and   uh unfortunately as on the paper even though  our we are a secular company unfortunately that   there's a a very Islamic government running and  this um doesn't allow evangelicals to be able to   uh live freely. So we try to train pastors, their  wives, their families and encourage them because   um Bible schools are in Turkey is illegal and  um it is very tough to minister people there   that we have so few Christians and we when we're  talking about 5,000 people and sometimes I just   wanted to encourage you sometimes people in  America I travel in America quite a bit that   they they take it for granted what they have  here and uh here you go to Starbucks somebody   reading their Bible and like you know anywhere  that you can see a Christian here like if you  

see once every five year a Christian in  the street that's almost like a smalls   size miracle you know you are shocked that you  see another Christian so that is the percentage   if you can imagine uh but God has been good to  us has been blessed us last year we were able   to buy our academy building which we are going  to be training pastors generations to come. Um we need your prayers uh on that and  um we're hoping that uh at once was   the in Antioch in Turkey that Christian  first called Christians. Unfortunately,   the gospel left with the Byzantine and  the crusades that Turkish people hates   um Christians and every when you become a  Christian, your family rejects you. Sometimes   they want to kill you. So, it's a very very hard  thing. It happened with me in my family. My mom   rejected me and didn't want me as his son.  But God has been amazing. Save my mother. Um and and I have the largest Christian  family in Turkey of 11 people. So   um I think God has been really merciful to  me. So please keep praying uh for us so that   we can bring the gospel uh back to where it  started uh everything. Thank you very much.

So ready to pray. You know uh p uh you stay  with me brother but pastors go out everyone   stand. Every brother find a brother. Every  sister find a sister. The Holy Spirit will   lead you how to pray for Turkey. Okay. And my  brother is going to wait a little while and   then he's going to pray in Turkish for the country  of Turkey. Come on, let's pray for workers. Let's   pray for pastors. Let's pray for the spread  of the gospel. Come on, lift your voices one   with another and pray. Please pray for Turkey.  Where Paul started his missionary journeys. Lord,   we bring Turkey to you, Lord. Oh God, we lift  up Turkey to you, Lord. We lift up Estanbul,   Ankara, Lord, all these places in the hard  area toward the east, Lord, and the other area,   Lord. You're greater than that. Oh God, shine  your light on Turkey. Shine your light on Turkey,   God. Shine your light through, my brother.  Prosper that Bible school, Lord. Heat.

Glorify. Glorify I glorify glorify my name. Oh Lord, glorify all over Turkey.  Lord, let the 5,000 become 10,000 become 50,000.

Amen. It's an honor. It's an  honor to have our brother with us,   isn't it? This the real deal. Let's  just hear it from You may be seated. You are welcome. It's an honor to have you here. So we are we just want to mention this announcement.  Next Tuesday you know we pray for a lot of   people a lot of things and sometimes we never get  a chance in the services to pray for our choir.   So next Tuesday our choir is going to be here  and they'll sing some songs but they're really   here to be prayed for that God would strengthen  them, anoint them. And you know what? You know,   the people singing behind me, they're all in the  choir and they have problems just like you. They   have difficulties and they're always singing  to try to help the congregation. We're going   to pray for them next Tuesday. So, uh, there'll  be a little extra. Yeah. Let's thank God for the   choir and how we can pray for them. I don't  think we've done that in years and years,   but we're going to do it. Um, so while I'm  talking here, could all the Camp Sanctus   workers who are leaving this Friday, could you  come out of your seats if you're here? Anybody  

from the Sanctus ministry, come here in the front  facing me. Pastor Luke, if you would come. Um,   so while they're coming, look up here. We have  um the prayer time on. We had such a good time   this morning from 12 to 1. Hi, come on across. Um  from uh 12 to 1, we're going to do that again on   Friday. The building is open from 12 to 1. We're  going to pray. And uh these are your workers. Sure got a lot of workers. Amen. No. Good. Slide  down. They they can't fit in here. They slide   down. Yeah. So, we just have the final numbers  in. That's good. And they'll come in the second   row here. So, the final number is what? Pastor  Lou, come on up. How was the 350? About 350 young   adults from 18, 19 through 29, 30. He's pushing  this on me. Uh he says 18 through 29. Lately   he's saying 18 through 30. Soon it'll be 31. You  know soon we'll have senior citizens and sanctus.   He's tricky that way. Um we're so thankful  to all of you that you're going to pour out,  

but you need God to help you to pour out. True.  And this is strange, right, Luke? Because the the   same camp where the kids are right now, they leave  what? Friday morning, and you all pile in there on   Friday night, 3 hours later. So, we're going to  pray for traveling mercies and all that. But let   let Pastor Luke just explain what's on his heart  and what these folks will be doing. Yeah. Well,   we leave on Friday uh morning. We're going  to have the majority of people coming in the   morning and then people who couldn't get out of  school or work coming later in the evening. But   it's going to be three days. We're going to have  a lot of sessions. Um Ron Brown is going to be   with us preaching. It's going to be so powerful.  Um but we have everybody up here. We have a lot   of volunteers. A lot of people here are going  to be cabin leaders and they're going to have   um you know 10 plus people that they're going to  be responsible to just try to encourage and pray   over. Uh we have other people who are volunteers  up here who will be working on zip lines and   things. So we got a lot of different people up  here right now. But um for us as a as a community,   so many young adults here in the church, this  is like the Super Bowl for us every year.   Countless lives have been touched over the years.  Um, so many people even here at the front look   back and say, "God met me and really transformed  my life at Camp Sanctus however many years ago."  

So, this is such a important and beautiful  opportunity for us. Um, and you know, I was   even just thinking earlier today how um, when Paul  says that he multiple times in the New Testament,   he says, "Never stop praying. always be praying.  Um I think the reason why is because day by day,   moment by moment, we need the Holy Spirit. We need  his grace. We've had so many of these retreats and   God has come through in such beautiful ways, but  it's not because we figured it out. It's because   every year we call on his name and he comes  through and he's so faithful. And so we're wanting   to come to the throne of grace with faith to  pray over all of these people here in the front,   the 350 young adults that are going to be  up there that are in all different kinds of   uh places and stages in their walk with the Lord,  but that his kingdom is going to come into every   person's life and have an exponential  effect as we come back to the city. So,   um, I just ask we're going to pray here, but  even through the week, whenever you think of us,   please be praying, uh, for all the young adults  that are going to be involved in this because   really, God is wanting to do something so  profound and deep in each of their lives.

Stay up here with us. Come on, Esteban. So  estabianini from Argentina married to Claire,   my granddaughter, and he has a  great heritage, spiritual heritage   all the way to his greatgrandfather. Um, oh my  goodness, just great great grandfather. And u,   we're so glad God sent him here. He's going to  pray over you and deacons. Deaconist is standing   up behind. Would you stand up behind them  and try to make your way in among them? Just   lay your hands on their shoulders. We're praying  for traveling mercies. We're praying. Look up   at me. We're praying for you to have discernment  to know as you're dealing with all these people,   what to say, what not to say, what's really  going on here, right? You need wisdom. You   need boldness. You need compassion. You're going  to meet people that that are really hurting and   and they need they need love and the tenderness  of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for you. I'm so   proud of you that God has put this in your  heart. So, congregation, let's pray. Okay, let's pray all together.

Oh Jesus, we come before you tonight, Lord. We  come thankful, Lord Jesus. Thankful because of   what you've done, Lord Jesus. Thank you, Lord  Jesus, for each and every person that signed   up to this retreat, Lord Jesus. Thank you,  Lord, that those that are going to be going   are those you wanted there, Lord Jesus. Lord,  and I want to start by this for these workers.   I want to pray for each and every one of them,  Lord, and even those that are not here tonight,   Lord Jesus. Or people are going to  be spending time, Lord, pouring out,   Lord Jesus. But we can only pour out what you  give us, Lord Jesus. So would you fill us,   oh Lord Jesus? Would you fill each and every  worker, Lord Jesus? We could only do what you   enable us to do, Lord Jesus. We don't want to just  work out of our own strength, Lord Jesus. So would   you fill each and every leader, each and every  worker, each and every volunteer, Lord Jesus,   fill us with your spirit, Lord. It doesn't matter  the kind of task that we're doing, Lord. We   want to do it in the power of your spirit, Lord  Jesus. whether we're greeting, praying, singing,   whatever it is, Lord Jesus, would you fill us L or  fill these people with your spirit Lord Jesus and   we pray Lord that every kind of logistical thing,  traveling mercies, everything, Lord, that we will   get to the retreat in time, everything will  go well, Lord Jesus, that every every session,   every activity, Lord Jesus, that you will watch  over everything, Lord Jesus. But most importantly,   Lord, we pray for a visitation, Lord Jesus. Lord,  none of this matters. Lord Jesus, the laughter,   Lord, the joy, it doesn't matter if you're not  there, Lord Jesus. So, we want you to come, Jesus.  

Would you fill up that space, Lord Jesus? Will  you prepare the hearts, Lord? Every single heart,   Lord, those hearts that are turned away from you,  Lord, but that will be there, Jesus. Would you   just soften the soul of every single heart, Lord  Jesus? And would you come, Lord? Would you come,   Lord Jesus? and know in the messages Lord the  speakers those who are going to share those who   are going to preach Lord those who are going to  do whatever lead worship Lord Jesus will you just   fill that space that room Lord Jesus with your  presence Lord that we will not be the same Lord   Jesus that nobody will come out of that retreat  saying I am the same Lord that everyone will be   able to say I've been changed I've been touched  I've been visited by the God of the universe Lord   Jesus so we trust you Lord we know you will do it  Lord Jesus us. Fill us up, Lord. Give us a humble   heart, Lord Jesus. Give everyone a heart to serve,  Lord Jesus. Like Pastor Luke was encouraging us,   Lord, a few weeks ago. Lord, we're great when we  serve, not when people serve us, Lord Jesus. So,   give us a heart to serve like you have, Lord. We  pray for all this in your precious name. Amen.

Put the lights up. Put the lights up for a second.  Put the lights up. Can you? All you great people,   turn around. Face the audience. Look  at our workers. Look at our workers. You know what? Turn around. Only according to  the will of God. Pastor Luke, are you with me?   But if God wants one of these women to fall in  love with one of the men at the sanctu No, no,   no. Listen, why are you laughing at me? If God is  in it, are you with me? You know what? You're very   resistant to this. If God is in it, he'll put  you all together. I want to marry somebody. I   want to I want to perform a ceremony. Only if  God is in it. But you know what? This Listen,   don't be unequally yolked. We don't want to see  our young adults, including the ones coming,   marrying some unbeliever or getting hooked  up in a in a relationship. That's not good,   right? That's important. So,  just be open. This is a word,   a pastoral word. Be open. Okay. I love you all.  Let's hear it one more time as they go back.

Boy, they got resistant. I didn't feel  a lot of love when I was saying that.   You receive it. Two of you  receive it. Very good. Okay. Uh, the one who said she receives  it is wearing a Spider-Man hoodie,   so I don't know about that. She might be  a little bit out there. Praise the Lord. when you leave, if you could uh remember the  offering basket and um uh or give online.   Those of you watching online, thank you for you  know, listen uh we didn't pray for the cards,   but you got a card, wave the card at me, okay?  Wave it. You got it? Okay, take it home with you.   Listen to what's come in as of Tuesday, just  recently here. Praise the Lord. My friend Ian,   who I was praying for, received Christ.  In other words, it was a request. Wait,   wait. Praise the Lord. My brother Jay has been  healed from cancer. I'm thanking God for it.   Praise the Lord. I sent in a card about finding  a job. I found a job. Even though it's seasonal,   I am grateful to God. Praise the Lord. I submitted  a prayer request for healing from my friend DJ. A   recent test showed there was no kidney failure  from Eileene. I Eileen says, "Praise the Lord.  

I was diagnosed with cancer last December. Now  my doctor had to lessen my treatment saying this   makes no sense because God is amazing." Praise  the Lord. Praise the Lord. I had lost my job,   but a month later my boss rehired me with a higher  pay and a sign on bonus. Come on. That's that's   Praise God. Hey, listen. Listen. I'm going to read  a couple more. That's what those cards mean. When   you pray, God hears. When we pray, God hears. And  that's why we're trying to now connect you to the   praise reports we're getting. Praise the Lord  from someone named Rob. My my son Kai received   God's direction for what school to transfer  and he got a scholarship with it. And lastly,   praise the Lord. the God has delivered me 100%.  Uh uh I have now financial freedom and favor in   my daughter's custody case. You see what what  all of these people they're they're telling   the truth about what they're going through.  They're not making up stuff. There's, you know,   a a daughter's custody case. They they're they  want they're longing for someone to pray for them.   And who knows where any of these people come from,  but you watching online, you keep sending them in,   you fill them out here, and we're going to keep  uh praying. And remember to keep giving because   everything uh that we do ends up costing so much  money. And then God has made it, you know, imagine  

God could send, you know, he sent mana down in  the Old Testament. He could just send money down.   What if he said, "Every morning, leave your house  and there'll be $50 bills waiting on the ground.   Pick it up and take it home. We'd be getting up  early, wouldn't we, in the morning?" It's like,   "Yes." But he doesn't. He gave mana in the  wilderness, but now he says that he wants his   own people to give how he's blessed them to help  propagate the gospel and do the work of the Lord.   So I was watching Christian television a few  months ago and just very briefly a man came   on who they were having a um a consortium of um  a panel discussing something in the Bible. This   man's face came on. I never saw him before,  never heard of him. And uh he said something   so good. Said a couple things really good. And  I turned to my wife and I said, "That is good,   isn't it?" not just what he said, but  his spirit. And she said, "Uh, yeah,   that was real good." I said, "I think I'm supposed  to call him and just tell him thank you and   maybe he would come on a Tuesday night and just  share a little word with us, encourage us." So,   I found out his name is Pastor Bob Cornell. He's  uh planting a church right now in Murreey'sboro,   Tennessee. That's outside of uh Nashville.  and he's here with his wife Sharon. And  

uh I never met him until just a few hours ago,  but he's going to give us little Come on. How   many need a little food to go home with? Right.  Come on, let's hear it for Pastor Bob Cornell. Let's give the Lord a hand clap of praise tonight.  Amen. Praise the Lord. He's worthy of our praise.   He is worthy of our praise. It is such an honor  and a privilege to be here tonight and just to   stand before you and for this invitation. I'm very  honored and privileged uh to be here. And I want   to get right into the word today. If we were to go  home right now, we would say we've had a wonderful   service. Amen. But I want to encourage you from  God's word. Turn your Bible if you would please,   to the book of Matthew, chap 21. the book of  Matthew chap 21 and beginning with verse 12 and   reading through verse 16. And I'll be transparent  with you tonight as we begin as when the Lord   laid this this passage on my heart and this  subject which I'm going to be talking tonight   about the word when Jesus said in the temple,  "My house shall be called a house of prayer."   And I I thought, Lord, do you know where I'm  going? I'm going to Brooklyn tab. I'm going   on a Tuesday night of all nights where we're  praying. And they already know this. But the  

Lord just kept putting it back in my spirit. So  tonight, I'm not here to give you some kind of new   revelation. I'm just here to glorify God and Jesus  and to encourage you in the faith. And so, Matthew   chapter 12, uh, 21, beginning in verse 12, if you  there, give me a good amen. Amen. And it says,   "Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove  out all those who bought and sold in the temple   and overturned the tables of the money changers  and the seats of those who sold doves." And he   said to them, "It is written, my house shall be  called a house of prayer, but you have made it a   den of thieves." But it continues and it says in  verse 14, "Then the blind and the lame came to   him in the temple and he healed them." But when  the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful   things that he did and the children crying out in  the temple and saying hosana to the son of David,   they were indignant and said to him, "Do you hear  what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them,   "Yes, have you never read out of the mouth of  babes and nursing infants, you have perfected   praise?" And tonight I want to focus for a few  minutes on what Jesus said there. And he said,   "My house should be called a house of prayer." But  before I do so, I want to call your attention just   to some things in this text that first it begins  with God's house being a house of prayer. But then  

it goes into how God's house became a house of  healing for the broken. And then it God's house   became a house of praise. Innocent praise, pure  praise, praise where where they didn't really   care about what people thought or or what they  what they saw them, but they were just purely   praising God and praising Jesus. But it began with  God's house should be called a house of prayer.   So tonight, I want to just share with you and  minister, encourage you for a few minutes on   this. Can we pray together? Father, we just come  before you tonight in the name of Jesus. And Lord,   we're just so thankful, Lord, for your  presence. Lord, I thank you for your people,   for we are your people called by your name,  redeemed by the blood of your son, Jesus. And   we give you all the praise and all the glory. And  everyone said, "Amen." Amen. And amen. You know,   Jesus cleansed the temple at the very beginning  of his earthly ministry and he cleansed the temple   at the very end of his earthly ministry. We read  tonight about the very end of his earthly ministry   when Jesus cleansed the temple. But in the gospel  of John, it tells us at the very beginning of his   earthly ministry when he did it, the disciples  wondered why is he doing this? And it and it says   that they realized that the zeal for God's house  had consumed Jesus. That's why he did it. It's  

because the zeal for God's house had consumed him,  had eaten him up. And so Jesus was was consumed.   He was filled with a zeal in his spirit because  he wanted God's house to be the way that God   ordained for it to be. And I have wondered,  and this is completely a theoretical tonight,   but I have wondered a few times. I've wondered as  it concern concerns the earthly ministry of Jesus.   We know it happened 2,000 years ago. But  I've wondered if Jesus if he was to have   his earthly ministry today, if he was walking  this earth today, would anything change about   Jesus as it concerns his message, about his  ministry? Would there be anything different   about the earthly ministry of Jesus in light  of the way that people are today? the way that   people are today. People we in channel people  are so divided. We're so divided over all kind   of different things. Cultural divisions, racial  divisions, nationality, politics. Woo, that's a   big one. And people are so divided and and and and  people can be very sensitive today in the day that   we're living in. Very sensitive, very distracted.  distracted by information overload and when if so  

if Jesus's ministry existed today would he change  anything to adapt to the times and I have come to   this conclusion based on what I see in God's word  that Jesus that he would not change at all his   ministry would not change his message would not  change. And we see that in Hebrews chapter 13:8,   that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Hallelujah. I'm thankful for our savior who does   not change. that Jesus if he if he was walking  and this is completely theoretical again, but if   he was if he was doing ministry today physically  that Jesus would still look upon the multitudes   and see them as sheep without shepherd shepherds  and he would be moved with compassion for them.   Jesus would still say to a religious leader like  Nicodemus, you must be born again. Jesus would   still say like he did in John 3:16, "For God so  loved the world that he gave his only begotten   son that whoever believes in him should not perish  but have everlasting life." Jesus would still heal   the sick. He would still raise the dead. He  would still cast out demons. Yes, that Jesus,  

he would not change. Jesus I believe today if  he was that he would again not shake he would he   would still be he would still be moved when he saw  people he would say if any man thirst let him come   unto me and drink Jesus would still say to some  religious people filled with self-righteousness   and unbelief he would still call the religious  people hypocrites blind leading the blind Jesus would still do that. Jesus and Jesus, get  this. Jesus would still say, "My house shall be   called a house of prayer." Now, the situation is  different today. And I know you know this, but   the situation is different today because we know  this that the temple that Jesus was dealing with,   it was a physical temple in Jerusalem. But how  many realize that Jesus changed everything because   when he died on the cross and he rose again and  all who believe in him like I believe most if not   all of you I pray that you know Jesus today all  of us here but he changed it in this way that all   of those who believe in him that now we become the  temple of the Holy Spirit and we become personally   We become the house of prayer. We become  personally a house of prayer. You know,  

and and I used to think years ago, I used  to think that I knowing that I used to   think that I was a house of prayer only when I  prayed. You know, when I prayed in the morning,   when I pray at different times and whatever when  if I pro when I prayed, I thought that was when   I was a house of prayer. But the Lord showed me  through his word and just dealing with me that no,   that's not right. Because get this, you and I as  believers, we are not a house of prayer only when   we pray. We are a house of prayer because Jesus  changed us into that. And I want to encourage   you today and challenge you that you are a house  of prayer. Not just when you pray because it's   not based upon what you and I do. It's based  upon the sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus changed our   identity. It's a part of our identity in Christ.  That that's who we are. That's who you are. That's   why you can be at work or you can be somewhere  else and maybe you're shooting the breeze,   small talk with somebody talking about the  weather or talking about the Knicks or talking   about the Jets or the Giant, whatever. And  the words are coming out of our your mouth,  

but inside there is a Lord, would you  show me what to say right now? Help me,   Lord. Lord, would you show? Anybody know what I'm  talking about? Lord, would you show me? Help me,   Lord. Give me the words to say right now. I don't  know, Lord. Do you want me to interject you into   this conversation? You know why that we do  that? Is because we are a house of prayer.   or when you're at work and while you're even  while you're doing your work and you're doing   what you do, but on the inside there is a thank  you Jesus. On the inside there's a Lord I thank   you for saving me. Lord I thank you that for  redeeming me. Lord I thank you for bringing me   out of darkness and putting me into light. Oh  I give you praise. Oh God, I give you praise. Why is that going on? It's because we are a house  of prayer. And God created us. It's a part of our   identity in Jesus. And I want to encourage you  today that you are not a house of prayer just   simply on Tuesday night. A Tuesday night prayer  meeting does not make you a house of prayer.   Coming to church on Sunday does not make you a  house of prayer. You can't earn it. You can't   merit it. You can't even pray enough to make  it happen. Jesus made you a house of prayer.

So I want to tell you it is who  you are whether you like it or not and I believe you do. But I have realized  this over the years that prayer as you   know prayer we over complicate prayer. And  sometimes we can think that prayer it has to   be fancy. It has to be complicated.  But prayer is not prayer biblical   communication with God is not some fancy  thing. It's not some complicated thing.   You know the great preacher Charles Spurgeon, he  said in the 1800s he said he said that prayer is   like the sound of an infant child to that child's  mother. Again, he said it's like the sound of an   infant child to that to that child's mother. How  many moms realize you know the sound of your baby?   But I want to tell you tonight, your heavenly  father, he knows your sound. He knows you.   Hallelujah. He knows you. He knows everything  about you. He knows He knows He knows your   language. He knows how you talk. He knows your  weaknesses. He knows us the best and loves us   the most. Prayer is not complicated. It's not,  it doesn't have to be fancy. It's simple. It's  

simple. Prayer is just simply talking with God.  Uh, a lot of the times it's just simply talking   with God about God about all of his attributes.  God, you are great. God, you are wonderful. Jesus,   you're my savior. You're my redeemer. You're my  master, my lord. You're telling God and communic   talking with God because it's not a monologue.  It's a dialogue because God talks back to us.   You mean God talks to you? Oh yes, he does.  Absolutely. Why is because the Bible says so. Prayer is most of the time it is just us  talking with God, talking to him about God,   about his attributes, how great he is. It's us  telling him our needs. And he wants us to tell   him our needs. The big and the small, everything  in between. Lord, I thank you. Lord, I need you.   Lord, I love you. Put it on repeat. Lord, I  love you. Lord, I thank you. Lord, I need you.

And again. Lord, I love you. Lord, I thank you.   Lord, I need you. It's not complicated. It's  not fancy. You don't need a degree. You are   redeemed by the blood of the lamb.  And so, you are a house of prayer. The unsaved person that does not know Jesus does  not have that. If you don't know Christ tonight,   you don't have that. Yes, you can talk with  God, but there's something about a child of God   communicating with their father, heavenly father.  Pastor Simba in his book, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire,   he made it so clear in that book that God moves  in miraculous ways when God's people pray. He quoted a great in his book, Fresh Wind,  Fresh Fire. He quoted a great Methodist   preacher in the late 1800s, early 1900s by the  name of Samuel Chadwick. And Samuel Chadwick,   he said this. He said, "The greatest answer to  prayer is more prayer." That's interesting. The   greatest answer to prayer is more prayer. What  does that mean? What he meant by that is this  

is that often we as believers and I'm preaching  to myself tonight. Often we as believers when we   pray about something, we're praying about a  need. Maybe we're bringing that need before   the Lord and maybe the Lord answers that need  and the ferveny that we have after the need is   met is not the same as it was before. Or we  don't see an answer to prayer and we pray,   we pray, we pray, and we don't see an  answer. So we get complacent and we stop.   That ferveny of prayer is not there anymore.  And that's why Samuel Chadwick that he said the   greatest answer to prayer is more prayer because  the temptation that you and I face is that we   can get complacent in the place of prayer and we  don't pray with the same ferveny that we used to.

And what God desires of every one of us of  his people of of his people regardless of   the label that is put upon you regardless of  the label. If you are redeemed of the blood   of the lamb God has called us to pray to pray  and to pray and to pray. Are you getting the   point here? and to pray and to pray again and  to pray again and to pray again. I'm reminded   of James chapter 5 when James he was talking  about Elijah that Elijah was a man he said   with an a man just like you and I. But Elijah  prayed that it would not rain and the Bible   says that it did not rain. But then it says  this, "And he prayed again and it rained."

My encouragement to you tonight is just to pray  again and to pray again and to pray again and to   pray again. My parent, just real quickly, my  parents were divorced when I was young, very   young. And after their divorce, my father left  upstate New York because that's where I'm from.   I'm a Yankee. Okay. I live in Tennessee now, but I  was born and raised in upstate near Syracuse. And   but he moved to South Florida and met a woman.  And he my dad became a Jehovah Witness. And he   was a Jehovah Witness. ended up being Jehovah  Witness for about 40 years of his life. And I   began to talk to my dad when I got old enough to  even know I was about 12, 11 or 12 years old. I   began to talk to my dad about spiritual things.  He tried to convert me. I tried to convert him.

But it was at a point in our relationship and  about spiritual things that I would talk to my   dad on the phone and I would always end the  conversation with, "Dad, I love you and I'm   praying for you." My dad would not even say thank  you because he knew what I was praying about.   I was praying that he would be born again. That  went on for years. That went on for years. toward   the end of his life and he passed away in January  of 2020 and I and and I'm I'm I'm getting to the   end here, but and now he's with the Lord. He got  born again. But just a few years before he ended   up passing away, I sense a shift in his spirit. He  began to soften to the gospel. And I began to tell   my dad, "Dad, I love you and I'm praying for you."  And my dad began to say, "Thank you. Thank you."

Maybe you're telling some people in your  family, "I'm praying for you." Anybody?   Maybe you're praying for people at your workplace  and you tell them actually or maybe you don't or   you've told them before, I'm praying for you  and they know that you are not they know that   you're genuine. They know that you're real. I'm  praying for you. Hear me tonight. Those words are   like seeds. I said those words are like seeds. The  Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit can take those words,   get them deep in a person's spirit,  so when they go to sleep at night,   they're hearing those words. I'm praying for  you. I'm praying for you. I'm praying for you. And I'm telling you, there was a day in my dad's  life that he surrendered his life to Jesus. that   he that he gave in to those words. He gave in.  He said, "Yes, Lord." And he told me that one   time when I was visiting him in Florida. He told  me that, "Bobby, Bob, I gave my life to Jesus."

And hear me though, reason why I tell that story,  and I'm about to end. The reason why I tell that   story is because it did not happen overnight.  It was for me personally. I began to pray when   I was a young boy, 11, 10, 11 years old, praying  for my dad to get saved. It would be years over   30 years later before it happened. One day in  1991, I was singing in a choir of a church that   I was attending in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. And I  wasn't even that moment. This one Sunday morning,   I wasn't even thinking about my dad. But the  Holy Spirit came all over me and he told me,   "I'm going to save your dad and I'm going to  use you." That was in 1991. He didn't get saved   until the late until the late 90 uh until the  I'm sorry, the about about 2020 or 2019 around   that time period. Many years later, you know what  the Holy Spirit did in me all those years? He laid   it upon my heart, don't stop praying. Don't  stop praying. Don't stop praying. At times   the Holy Spirit would deal with me in this  way. You may be the only person praying for   him. Don't stop praying. And I want to encourage  you tonight because there's some people that you  

may know and you may be the only person that's  praying for them, but God hears your prayers. The wonderful thing about us praying in  faith that God hears and he answers. Oh,   hallelujah. I said God hears  and he answers prayer. Oh,   I want to say it again. God hears  and he answers prayer. Hallelujah. So brother from Turkey, God  hears and he answers prayer and I'm I'm ending. This is my final closing.  We're praying for this country. We got to pray   for this country. We got to pray for this  city. We got to pray for every city in   America. We got to pray for the world. Get  this. We need anointed preaching. We need   anointed singing. But behind anointed preaching  is anointed prayer. Behind anointed singing is   anointed prayer. We need ministries for all  the different age groups, children, teenage,   college age, and all the ages. We need those  ministries, but we need prayer behind them.  

God uses the prayers of his people. As  we read the book of Acts, which is the   history of the church in the first 30 years,  one of the things that we see consistently, especially in the beginning, is that the church  believers, they were in one accord in prayer.   That one accord means one purpose, one goal,  one agenda. And again, it's not complicated.   It's simple. God, we need you. Jesus, we need  you. Holy Spirit, we need you. Can you stand   to your feet this evening? We need you. Mix it  again. all of our needs. As Paul would say in   Philippians chapter 4, we bring our needs before  the father. He said, "Do it. Bring your petitions   with thanksgiving." So Lord, I need you. And Lord,  I thank you because you're a good God. Father,   tonight we thank you. We thank you that you've  called us. You have made us through the blood of   the lamb. You have made us house a house  of prayer. You've made us individually a   house of prayer. You made us collectively as your  people a house of prayer. And so tonight, Lord,  

I pray that you would strengthen your people,  encourage them in the name of Jesus. Let us   never give up. Let us never give up. And we say it  all in Jesus name. Amen. Let me say something. Um,   here's how I've been convicted tonight. I have a  great grandson. I've told you about him, Roman.   And I've been praying and praying and praying and  praying. I got people praying around the country   for him. And I got a report just in the last  5 days, 4 days. He's doing better. But wait,   he's not there yet. The man convicted me. I'm not  as fervent as I should be. He's not there yet. See   what happens? Things look a little better. You  fall back. How many know what I'm talking about,   right? So, every eye closed for a second. How many  got anybody here got somebody that you probably   are the only person praying for them? And maybe  you know God is speaking through a servant tonight   that he wants you to double down. Not quit. Not  quit, not lessen, but double down. I know, but   pastor, I've been praying and nothing's happened.  Double down. Double down. Not less, more.

Anybody here with that? Come quick  to the front. We're just going to   have a final conclusion prayer. Come on.  Come on. You're praying for someone and you want to go on record today with  God. God, give me that spirit of   prayer. For we know not how we ought  to pray, but the Holy Spirit helps us. Pass me not. Oh gentle say  your hear my heart. Oh cry. are true.

Sing loud everyone. Yeah. Heat. Lift the band up. Lift your  hands up and sing everyone. Oh, heat, heat.

While they keep playing it, just lift up that  name to God right now. Lift your voice up to   God. Not less. We're going to pray more.  God, help Roman. Lord, I lift his name   up in the great congregation. Lord, touch  his mind. Touch his emotions, Lord. Heat. Heat. Lift them up to God. Lift them up.  My house shall be called a house   of prayer. Ask and you shall receive.  men are always to pray and not give up.

One last time with me Heat. Heat. You not me. Lord, make our church a house of prayer. Make  our lives houses, temples of prayer all the time,   every day. Prayer. Thanksgiving, intercession.  Make it like regular breathing for us.
