And it's not that it's bad, motions. And it's not that it's bad, motions. And it's not that it's bad, it's just that it's lost its meaning and it's just that it's lost its meaning and it's just that it's lost its meaning and therefore it's lost some of the impact. therefore it's lost some of the impact. therefore it's lost some of the impact. And that's true of the Lord's supper. And that's true of the Lord's supper. And that's true of the Lord's supper. And uh we had confession weekly, grade. And uh we had confession weekly, grade. And uh we had confession weekly, we had mass weekly, we had religion we had mass weekly, we had religion we had mass weekly, we had religion class every day. And I learned the whole class every day. And I learned the whole class every day. And I learned the whole technique involved in taking uh the technique involved in taking uh the technique involved in taking uh the Lord's supper. And and in that church, Lord's supper. And and in that church, Lord's supper. And and in that church, it was about, you know, some of you know it was about, you know, some of you know it was about, you know, some of you know what I'm talking about. Like it was like what I'm talking about. Like it was like what I'm talking about. Like it was like sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up, right? And then sit down, stand up, right? Those of us who grew up Catholic, we grew up who grew up Catholic, we grew up who grew up Catholic, we grew up wondering, are they prolonging this wondering, are they prolonging this wondering, are they prolonging this service on purpose? service on purpose? service on purpose? Like some sort of purgatory thing, like Like some sort of purgatory thing, like Like some sort of purgatory thing, like what? Like just getting you ready? Like what? Like just getting you ready? And and uh my brother when we were kids like he'd he'd brother when we were kids like he'd he'd brother when we were kids like he'd he'd eat his ice cream cone then lick mine eat his ice cream cone then lick mine eat his ice cream cone then lick mine knowing I would just give it to him cuz knowing I would just give it to him cuz knowing I would just give it to him cuz I I'm not going to eat it. Right.

And it bothered me that matter. And it bothered me that matter. But at at like 15, I went to a of. But at at like 15, I went to a of. But at at like 15, I went to a Baptist church for the first time and my Baptist church for the first time and my Baptist church for the first time and my buddies brought me along and we did the buddies brought me along and we did the buddies brought me along and we did the Lord's Supper. That's what they called Lord's Supper. That's what they called Lord's Supper. That's what they called it, the Lord's Supper. But I knew what it, the Lord's Supper. But I knew what it, the Lord's Supper. But I knew what it was cuz it's the same menu, it was cuz it's the same menu, it was cuz it's the same menu, right? It's the It's the same two items, right? It's the It's the same two items, right? It's the It's the same two items, right? But but it was completely right? But but it was completely right? But but it was completely different. And they said it was the different. And they said it was the different. And they said it was the Lord's supper. And so I stood up and my Lord's supper. And so I stood up and my Lord's supper. And so I stood up and my buddy grabbed me and like pulling me buddy grabbed me and like pulling me buddy grabbed me and like pulling me back down. He's embarrassed of me. And back down. And he said, "If you don't know what deacons is, it's like know what deacons is, it's like know what deacons is, it's like Christian Mafia that in a minute Christian Mafia that in a minute Christian Mafia that in a minute they're going to bring you all of the they're going to bring you all of the they're going to bring you all of the elements to to the Lord's Supper." I really didn't know in either context the meaning behind any of either context the meaning behind any of either context the meaning behind any of it. But there came a point in my walk it. And it transformed me from just going through transformed me from just going through transformed me from just going through the motions to God moving in my life the motions to God moving in my life the motions to God moving in my life when I take the Lord's supper. And here's the thing, the church has been here's the thing, the church has been here's the thing, the church has been doing this meal called the Lord's Supper doing this meal called the Lord's Supper doing this meal called the Lord's Supper for 2,000 for 2,000 for 2,000 years.
